He's had a problem for years where he can't urinate without the help of pills (not sure what they are called, but they are prescribed by his urologist). they don't seem to be helping anymore, so they are now going to do a surgery. does anybody know what this entails and what are the side affects. is it true that he may be able to work for about 1 month? any additional info would be greatly appreciated.. he is 65 years old. thank you.
I need to know about symptoms after Prostate Cancer surgery? My husband had complete prostate removal surgery 5-05 and has the usual problems associated with that but has another side effect his Dr's. wont even discuss. His legs became very weak right after surgery and remain so, After asking other men (3) who have had the same surgery and them experiencing the same symptoms why wont the medical community discuss this? Any ideas? By the way....He had to use the VA Health Care System and his cancer came from service in Vietnam.

What do you think a guy should do who does #2 where he should do #1and vice versa soon after prostate surgery? I'm Just wondering, since I heard a nurse's assistant in one of my classes talking about it him coming in to where she worked. Apparently his surgeon has a history of making nicks. He went back to the hospital and he had no control over the constant fecal flow from his penis, which it can to through since it has thinnish consistency. It's supposedly really painful too. I thought it was interesting, thought provoking sort of. So what do you think?
Prostate surgery affected ejaculation. Would not having ejaculations bother you? At the time of the prostate surgery, I knew that this was going to be likely, but I miss having the feeling of orgasm with semen coming out of me. My question: Besides the issue of the non-elective surgery, how would you feel about not having ejaculations? I guess the questions can go both ways, men or women replying to this question. I'm still young, late 30's. To: s7lmb You sorta missed the point, but I agree with you about not talking about it. I could have thought of a better question. Thanks.

how to deal with prostate problems without surgery? I have been having a lot of prostate problems lately and have been debating if i should be getting surgery. I’m really nervous for it and to tell you the truth, I don’t want to do it if it’s not necessary. I know there are complications and risks so I’d rather go without it. What can I do to help get rid of the problem without surgery? If anyone has any experience on this issue I would greatly appreciate some feedback. Thanks in advance

Dog Prostate Surgery- My 13 yr old dog may have prostatic tumor. His prostate is enlarged.? Can someone give me the list of what to check for in his blood so to know if he is fit to have the surgery or not? We live in Indonesia and the vets there are few and less sophisticated. Our vet only uses x-ray and her statoscope to say that his heart won't be strong enough to survive the operation, without performing any blood test. But he is already having problem peeing, and recently even pooed fresh blood! Thank you so much.

Sex after prostate cancer surgery? My husband had surgery for stage 1 prostate cancer about 2 weeks ago . I am not in a rush but I was wondering when the ability to get an erection comes back.
I had prostate surgery awhile back which affected my performance. I can't get a hard erection anymore and? don't produce as much semen as I used too.I know my wife wants us to have sex but I can't do it. Also, she is in her early 50s and she is still menstruating, and the doctor says she is still normal and healthy, which means she may still be able to have a baby. We don't need another baby at our age. I still would like to have sex with her but I wonder if it would be wise. I asked my doctor about my problems and he said that prostate surgery will do that to a lot of men. I feel like I am cheating my wife out of sexual pleasures as she used to like it. I can't use drugs for erections (Viagra) because it will interfere with my other medications.
Did you have prostate surgery? I had prostate surgery over five years ago. My ability to have erections, already bad, got worse. The latest thing given to me is a drug to reduce the amount of Testosterone. Unfortunately, it always removes most desire for relations. As I am at the end of one dose, I feel a little more desire. Since I am over 65 and a widower, I have to look far and wide for a partner. Now, I am afraid to even do that since there is this problem with getting an erection. Anyone with similar problem? If you have overcome this, please let me know what I can do to improve the quality of my life. I tried vacuum device, injections, Viagra, Levitra, Cialis, therapy. Nothing works.
